Pacific Quest History
In the late 1990s, Mike McKinney and Chris Kaiser began as field instructors at a traditional wilderness program in Idaho where they worked for years leading 3-week trips in the high desert learning the foundations of experiential education and adolescent therapy. They later worked at a variety of residential and wilderness programs refining their philosophies and techniques. In 2003, they facilitated a summer program in Western Samoa solidifying their desire to take wilderness therapy to a safe location and utilize a relationship and community-based approach.
The Pacific Quest program has developed organically over the years. The gardens and farms have been an incredibly inspiring and rewarding gift. They began as just one of the many “tools” available but have evolved into a powerful way of experiencing connections to nature and growth. Our Family Program allows us to have even more ways of working with our parents and creating a better understanding and connection within families.
Pacific Quest will continue its own growth by constantly incorporating new ideas, experiences and facilities.
Our Mission
